The Anamnesis (Part 1)

The Memory I Didn't Know I Had

It started with a dream...

Last night, I woke up with a word floating in my mind: Anamnesis.
Strange, right? I’d never heard it before or so I thought.

So, I did what anyone would do at 3 AM. I Googled it.
And what I found felt like the missing puzzle piece of so many forgotten feelings.

Anamnesis: A recollection, especially of a supposed previous existence.

It hit me.
Maybe the dreams I keep having about forests I’ve never been to, or the songs I swear I know but can’t place maybe they’re not fiction.
Maybe… they’re echoes.

Have you ever felt it?

That tug in your chest when you visit a place for the first time and it feels like home?
That weird spark of knowing someone you just met?
That’s anamnesis.

And the more I think about it, the more I believe it’s real. Not just in a spiritual or past-life kind of way; but in the way our souls hold onto things that matter.

My art remembers too

Abstract forest art representing anamnesis and forgotten dreams
Lately, I’ve been molding my clay differently.

Shapes, symbols, even colors I didn’t consciously choose; they just flow through me.
And when I step back and look, I recognize something I can’t explain.

Maybe my hands remember more than my mind.

Let’s talk

Have you ever experienced a moment of anamnesis?
Drop a comment below; I’d love to know.
Or maybe you’ve created something that felt like it came from a place beyond words.

Until next time, stay curious.
